Got any plans this weekend?

If you’re in DC, please join us for our very first Streetsblog Playdate and Family Picnic, co-hosted by Greater Greater Washington. We’re excited to meet our readers and their families*, and to introduce you to ours.

It’s a celebration of urban parenting. It’s a celebration of raising kids in vibrant communities where they can walk and bike places instead of always getting strapped into that darned car seat. It’s a celebration of childhood in a place filled with history, with great art, with big ideas, with rich diversity. It’s a celebration of potato salad and iced tea.

Come dangle your feet in the fountain with us.

We’ll be gathering for some family fun this Saturday, May 31, at 11:00 a.m. at the National Gallery of Art’s Sculpture Garden. We’ll try to gather in the southeast corner, near 7th Street and Madison Drive NW, but may shift if it’s crowded there. Call or text 202-460-4376 if you have trouble finding us.

RSVP here to let us know you’re coming.

Bring your own lunch and a side or sweet to share.

* However you define family works for us, kids or no kids. See you there!
