Today’s newsletter brings analysis from Kristina Curtiss which pushes back against a claim from the NHTSA that newer vehicles are “safer than ever before” — safer for who? Instead of prioritizing regulation that can continue to create safer vehicles, the Trump administration has taken a deregulatory approach and rescinded 12 proposed regulations that would have updated the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. 

So Curtiss argues it’s time for the states to take up the safety mantle.
